DEIRDRE DEWALD
Deirdre DeWald comes to St. Patrick's Catholic School with a wide variety of teaching experiences. Her first year of teaching was spent on the Omaha Indian Reservation in Macy, Nebraska. Deirdre taught 4th, 5th, & 6th grades at St. Gabriel the Archangel School in Louisville, 6th grade for two years at Christ the King in Omaha, and is currently in her second year at St. Patrick's.
While Deirdre is not a native to Nebraska, she did attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she received her undergraduate degree. In 2001, she completed her Master's Degree in reading and writing from the University of Louisville (Louisville, Kentucky). Deirdre feels that literacy is very important and spends a lot of time planning lessons to enhance her student’s appreciation and understanding of the written word.
In her free time, Deirdre loves to read, write, cross stitch, scrapbook, and spend time with her husband and daughter. Her daughter is 5th grader at St. Patrick’s School this year.

SONJA DREHER
Sonja Dreher, our 5th grade religion, reading, and science teacher, enjoys the challenges of teaching and feels that St. Patrick’s allows its students to strive to do their best and be their best in a caring, positive environment where the academic and behavioral expectations are high. Sonja earned her Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary Education and English from Oklahoma Panhandle State University and her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
With a dozen years of teaching experience (including instruction in every grade from 4th grade to college) and her love for children, she notes that her career has been exciting and fulfilling. Working at St. Patrick’s has allowed her to encourage students to learn life lessons that will benefit them greatly in the future while keeping Christ as their focal point.
When not at school, Sonja enjoys golfing, playing volleyball, landscaping, reading, and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Dean, have two sons, Braxton and Braydon, who attend St. Patrick’s and love every minute of it.
