In religion, we’ll have the chance to share our musical talents in the 8^th grade choir on Tuesday, September 6.  Please show up to the Church at 8 A.M. if you volunteered to participate.  In addition, we’ll be working on the necessary components for our saint papers, taking on daily Scripture hunts, & journaling about new Christian music.

In reading, we’ll continue becoming human thesauruses through our vocabulary studies.  Note the key word “study.”  Cramming is not the key to mastery.  Each 8^th grader is aware that he/she has 5 to 10 minutes of studying to do daily in reading.  1^st & 3^rd periods of reading will complete The 7 Habits of Highly-Effective Teens this week.  We’ll prepare for the test with a “File ‘n Highlight” Monday on September 12, and the test is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13.  Second period students will continue reading and has a “File ‘n Highlight” day set for Wednesday, September 14, in preparation for their test on Thursday, September 15.  Preparation is key to success!

On Friday, September 9, area, Catholic high schools will visit with our students.  It’s the time to start making plans for their futures.  Expect them to come home with a lot of information about a variety of schools.  It is also a Uganda Dress-Down day, so we want to be thankful as we think about all of the educational opportunities we’re afforded, especially since so many aren’t as blessed as we are in the United States.  Please keep St. Mary’s, our Sister School, in your prayers!
