Week of April 28 – May 2nd
Reading – We will begin our last novel for the year, Where the Red Fern Grows. Students will read chapters 1-5 Monday and Tuesday. We will then complete chapters 6–10 throughout the week. Students will be assigned chapters 11-15 over the weekend. Students will be completing logs, comprehension questions, and vocabulary exercises for each set of chapters.
English – Students will have a quiz over verbals on Monday. On Tuesday we will begin Unit 20 on Punctuation. This unit is a nice compilation of how to use ending punctuation, commas, etc. This week we will focus on ending punctuation and commas within sentences.
Math – This week we will be finishing up Chapter 6. We will wrap it up on Monday, take a practice test Tuesday and then test over that material on Wednesday. We will then go directly into Chapter 8 which covers geometry concepts. This will be a great way of ending the school year.
Science – In science, we will wrap up Chapter 2 in our book by sharing our essays over “air quality.” We will have a speaker coming in on Tuesday during class who is a meteorologist and the rest of the week will be spent discussing real life application to forecasting weather and other such issues.
