The Library Media Center Program

The primary aims of the Library Media Center Program are to promote an understanding of the value of reading and the library and to teach the children the many resources available to them in the media center. All students grades K-5 are scheduled for a weekly library class. During this class the media specialist spends time developing library skills based on grade level subject curriculum and literature appreciation. Additional time is spent on browsing and book selection by the children. Books circulate weekly.  Middle school teachers may reserve the library for their class to come as a group.  Middle school students will be allowed to check out books with the permission of a teacher during any open Library time.
