4th Grade Accordion Pictures
4th grade has endured the most difficult of tasks in making these accordion pictures!
It has been amazing! Each student has had to draw and color 2 separate pictures, then using a ruler, measure the backs of both papers making 1 inch wide strips, which were then labeled 1A, 2A, 3A etc. from right to left, then 1B, 2B, 3B etc. on the other picture from right to left. Students were then given a long strip of paper and were instructed to cut one strip at a time alternating between picture A and picture B gluing them one at a time on the long strip of paper starting from the left, with 1A and ending on the right with 9B, making sure to leave a "toothpick" wide space in between each strip. Whew! It was very hard work for them but they did absolutely fantastic!
Here is an example of an accordion picture done with magazines.
