Throughout the week, the English classes have been challenged in their journal writing.  We discussed St. Therese, the Little Flower and how she is known for her “Little Way.”  The “Little Way” is doing the small, daily acts of life with great love for God.  Each of the students came up with acts that they can perform, as they strive to be saints.  Also, we learned about “Preaching the Gospel” through our actions and leading lives that walk the talk.

We will initiate the “Writer’s Chair” in English this next week. When we complete a written piece of work, the 5th grade will have the opportunity to read their polished work to their class.  The students will present the work when they are ready to share.  Already this past week, we have shared our writting with the class with great enthusiasm!

On Tuesday, October 9, we will take our Flipper Cards test.  The students will be able to use their Flipper Cards, as they are a huge tool!  Please continue to study with your child.

In Science, we will begin traits in families.  Also this week, we will experience our first activity with 4-H.  This is a great, educational opportunity for the kiddos.  They will be working on bridges with the 4-H group.  We are very excited to have 4-H come to our classrooms!

This morning, our last Monarch Butterfly flew away!  We observed that this little butterfly was very active and super eager to head south to Mexico.  What a wonderful way to start the week.
