Safety Patrol for the Week: Isabelle B., Jack B., Jacob C., Nathan C.
Edline
All three teachers will have grades uploaded to Edline early in the week. There are a few ‘error messages’ that need to be resolved. What that means is that there are some students who may not see all grade reports. Please know we are working on getting those taken care. If you cannot log in, or can’t remember your password, you are welcome to email Mrs. Nelson and she can help you. Families who are new to St. Pat’s will get an email with directions on creating an account.
Box Tops
St. Pat’s collects box tops! You are welcome to send them in with your sixth grader.
Nelson class Mass
Mrs. Nelson’s class will read and take up the gifts during school Mass on Thursday, September 9. All parents are invited to attend.
Uganda Dress Down Days
We will have our first Uganda Dress Down Day on Friday, September 10. If you have not ordered your Uganda shirt, you will have until September 15 to do so. On September 10, students may wear either this year’s or last year’s t-shirt. All other Sister School Dress Down Days will be wearing the lime green shirts.

Math
Period 1 Math
Conversions within the metric system caused a bit of frustration for period 1 last week. We will complete our work with that concept on Tuesday. We will then move into problem solving. We will end the week by working with integers. Students will be asked to compare and order them.

We will finish our work in chapter one this week. Skill focus includes mean, median and mode. We will also spend time in review for the Chapter One test which will be next week on Monday.
Period 5 Math
Period five math will begin the week comparing and ordering integers. They will move into using all 4 basic operations while working with integers.
Science
Students will be starting chapter two this week which focuses on bacteria and viruses. The first section includes the characteristics of prokaryotes and archaea and how prokaryotes reproduce.
Religion/DWP
We will be working with our second set of questions for Vocation’s Day this week. Students will be given the questions and answers on Tuesday, but will have to make their cards independently as homework. The quiz for all three periods will on Friday. We will use the first 10 minutes of math class to take the quiz, however, because floating study hall interferes with Religion class on Friday. We will also be working in chapter two in our text. We will compare and contrast the two stories of creation in the book of Genesis. Fr. Rodney will come to talk with the sixth graders on Tuesday as well.
