The fourth graders had a chance to visit our state capitol on Thursday, November 5, 2009. While there, we were lucky enough to catch a little bit of the special session of the Unicameral as well as have a tour of the beautiful capitol building. This was great luck, since the Nebraska Legislature typically does not convene until January! We ate our lunch on the Centennial Mall and then walked down to the Nebraska History Museum. The trip was both fun and educational! The students were especially amazed to see many artifacts at the museum that are pictured in their textbook titled The Nebraska Adventure. Thank you again to all the parent volunteers!

Gloria was our tour guide for the day.

The investigation station allowed for some "make believe" pioneer activities!

Here we are doing our "capitol exercises!"
