The fourth and fifth graders visited the Joslyn Art Museum on Wednesday, March 29th. The visit was the culminating activity to a month long study of illuminated manuscripts. Students learned about the history of manuscripts traditionally written by Benedictine Monks. They also learned about the process that Donald Jackson has gone through to bring his dream to fruitition. Before our visit, the students also tried their hands at illuminating their names and a bible verse of their choosing. They especially enjoyed adding "gold" glitter to their works of art. If you get a chance, visit the Joslyn before April 16th and see this extraordinary masterpiece for yourself!
