Accelerated Reader is a computer based program that allows students to earn points by taking a quiz over a book they have read. Each student in our class has set a goal of how many points they would like to earn by Christmas. We will use our reader meters to track our progress throughout the semester.

Step One: The students set goals  for themselves using their reader meters.

Step Two: The students either read a book to themselves, with someone else, or listen to it read aloud.

Step Three: Students log on to the computers at school to take a 10 question multiple choice quiz over their book. Each book is worth a different number of points.

Step Four: Students will track their progress on the Reader Meter board.
